Dr. Stuart G. Merle
Pediatric Dentist, Founder
Dr. Stuart G. Merle was born in Brooklyn, New York and grew up in Coney Island. He received his Bachelor of Science in Biology from Brooklyn College in 1969 and then graduated cum laude from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in 1973. While in dental school, Dr. Merle worked as a hygienist for a pediatric dentist and it was then that he realized his aptitude and love for treating young patients. He did his pediatric dental specialty training at the Brookdale Hospital Medical Center (an NYU affiliated teaching institution) in Brooklyn NY. After receiving his specialty certificate in 1975, he and Dr. Alan Zicherman opened their practices in Peabody and Lynn. Dr. Merle became a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry in 1987 after completing the rigorous testing and requirements of the Board. This is the highest level of tested competency in the specialty.
Dr. Merle is a member of Omicron Kappa Upsilon (Dental Honor Society), the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry, the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, the American Dental Society, the Massachusetts Dental Society, and the Massachusetts Academy of Pediatric Dentistry of which he is a past president.
He lives in Lynnfield with his wife of 38 years, Gale Ann, who works with hearing impaired babies and their families. They have two sons, Jeremy and Andrew. Dr. Merle enjoys golf, tennis, photography, travel and has a passion for baseball and the Red Sox.
